The vision of putting the whole Bible into music, word for word, came into being in 2002. It was fuelled by a desire to know the Bible better. The big challenge was, and still is, to merge the precise text of the Bible (even when it is not poetic) with appropriately composed music. The Biblical word must be transmitted clearly, comprehensively and unchanged, and be filled with the Spirit of God. Music is well fitted for such a goal.
Guideline
The rhythm, emphasis and flow of the spoken Word of God must be maintained, and the music must fit the Word of God and not vice versa. The Word must never be distorted in favour of the music!
The order of priority is clear. First the Spirit, then the Word, and then the music. The Word of God in the Bible is the master and man as composer or interpreter is the servant. The honour belongs to Jesus Christ.
